L'Aria

This "play, research, include" workshop, based on Clémence Attar's "Les Enchantements", is co-constructed by Marie Astier and Claire de Saint Martin, and combines theatrical work and academic research.

We'll be working from the play "Les Enchantements" by Clémence Attar :
The play is set in the hot month of August. While the darlings are at the café or at work, six teenagers are looking for a way to pass the time and cool off. Since the swimming pools in their neighborhood are closed or too expensive, the boys' group decides to buy an inflatable pool and install it in an apartment under construction.
And now the girls' group is building a beach in the living room of a neighbor who's gone on vacation.
A competition ensues to see who can attract the most people. But all that water ends up seeping into the concrete...

This play will provide the raw material for work on: - the chorus (since there is no main character) - the body (what is a body that is hot? bored?) - language (how to trust language to build characters) - improvisations (based on situations in the play).

Collaborative research will take the form of 3 collective brainstorming sessions, held at the beginning, middle and end of the workshop, according to a collectively-defined theme, an interview with each participant, and a debriefing to summarize the analyses of this and previous workshops.

A feedback session will take place on the afternoon of August 25.
