26e Rencontres internationales de Théâtre

Actor Robin Renucci transforms the entire Ghjunsani region into a theatre venue where you can see plays produced during the Rencontres de Théâtre festival under the tuition of expert drama teachers. A great theatre experience for you to share and enjoy.

For 26 years, they have been a summer highlight. Over a four-week period, nearly a hundred trainees, actors and technicians alike, work on a dozen or so shows, mixing contemporary and classical works. Supervised by experienced trainers, directors, artists and technicians, this production workshop is a unique experience, rich in exchanges and know-how, a wonderful collective adventure. The resulting pieces are presented to the public in August in the villages of Ghjunsani.

For these Rencontres, the public is more than ever at the heart of our common reflections: a practicing public, a "spectActor" public. We want this audience to play a real part in shaping the art of acting, directing and theatre-making in general.

Artistic workshops will be held throughout the summer to encourage the practice of sensibility, make room for the imagination and express oneself as part of a collective. This alternative to cultural consumption is in keeping with the spirit of popular education. Before each show, the artists will share with the audience discovery workshops, including stage work, reading aloud, improvisation, circus... Some workshops are reserved for adults, while others are designed for families, to encourage practice between parents and children.

Our commitment is to re-appropriate the arts of the spoken word in order to strengthen each individual's ability to say "I", to speak his or her own language, to resist the growing standardization of our societies and not to abandon the creative part of each individual to the promoters of a mass culture.
