Urtaca is a village which ressembles a balcony and has kept its elegant charm throughout the centuries. The houses of the sgiò, native landowners, boast Italian-style architecture.

The oldest houses are to be found in the old neighbourhood of U Tricello. Wander round the old part of the village, venture inside the church to cool off and discover the  traditional harmonium. Take a few moments to relax on the sotta à torra bench before heading towards the A Poggiola neighbourhood. Here the village square is shared by both children and petanque enthusiasts. Carry on up to the funtana vecchia, to discover this little taste of paradisu. Follow the gardens and you will come to the stone bridge, cross over the river and go up the little path…

You’ve found it! A natural swimming pool in a blend of jade and emerald greens reflecting the alders. Relax on the flat stones and take advantage of the peace and quiet to have an afternoon nap.
