Christian Vincensini

U Spaziu Pasquale Paoli invites you to discover the works of Francis and Christian Vincensini.

Les échappées belles by Christian Vincensini:
This Bastia native took up painting in 2021, but has always drawn. He was a draughtsman in civil engineering. "I looked after my mother. To keep busy, I painted for three years. He painted a total of 54 canvases, 24 of which were exhibited in this beautiful space in the town's old town center.
Christian Vincensini first exhibited in 2022 in Biguglia, then in L'Ile Rousse at the Spaziu. "It's complicated to exhibit," he confides with humility. His talent was spotted by Francis Vincensini, who encouraged him.
"I work from photos," explains the artist, who has a predilection for seascapes and villages. His own: San Lorenzu and Cambia. More sentimental works. His attachment to Corsica and the wonder it arouses in him led him to depict I cinque frati and Calacuccia in the Niolu. If his walks take him to Petra di Verde, he always returns to Bastia, his home port: "Bastia, my life. I built my life here. Under his brush, we rediscover the Ficaghjola beach, the Aldilonda promenade, the citadel, the Old Port and the church of Saint Jean. In the course of her canvases, the silhouette of an elegant young woman is discreetly captured in an attitude or reverie. An inspiring muse who seems to light his way.
This lover of Bastia, charmed by Cap Corse, has painted Canari and Centuri: "It reminds us that we're an island. His creative process always begins the same way: "I sketch with a felt-tip pen. Little by little, I assert myself.
Her acrylic and oil canvases express themselves in vivid colors.

Francis Vincensini's aim is to touch the viewer's sensibility and take his imagination on a journey.
These abstract works of color and light, applied with a knife or wiped clean, enable him to approach an inner peace: "I believe that the worst enemy we have is ourselves".
"As soon as you manage to settle accounts with yourself, and I do it with painting, there's no longer any reason to be in conflict with anyone else.
Now retired from teaching, but not from his 50-year-plus passion for painting, and still speaking of his students as sources of inspiration in his artistic approach, he likes to recall that:
"I find that my students have been invaluable in my approach, with their freshness, their pertinent remarks, and their need to surpass themselves.
I believe that without them, I wouldn't exist".
