Made up of four voices, the Cantu Nustrale group performs sacred, traditional and contemporary songs. Its singers will take you deep into the heart of Corsican song in the pure tradition of Corsican polyphony.
In the execution of Corsican polyphonic singing, from the oral tradition, everything is a matter of instinct: the way of sending the song, the impulse, the pitch of the notes, the rhythm, the dynamics of the breath, the search for the balance. The freedoms of ornamentation, producing friction, parallel fifths and octaves, prohibited by classical harmony, are the essence of Corsican polyphonic singing. This concert combines the songs of polyphonic Capella from the traditional secular and sacred repertoire, The public is taken on a musical journey through the scents of the maquis of an intense and warm Corsica which allows to transmit and share the best of its specificity. Rejecting easy artifices and fashion effects, the Cantu Nustrale group strives to restore the sober and authentic character of their songs and is also involved in creation and training.
