La Montagne des Orgues en Balagne

La Montagne des Orgues invites you to discover the ancient heritage and history of the Balagne region through the Baroque churches and their historic organs. A unique musical journey of discovery!

On the program for the day:

Welcome in Speloncato at 9 a.m. on the collegiate church square, then Pioggiola, Olmi Cappella and Palasca.
We'll be making a loop linking two beautiful historic villages in the rich Balagne region to the high mountain valley of the Ghjunsani:
The day begins in the medieval village of Speloncato, with the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta - the first of Corsica's four collegiate churches - then moves on to the upper Ghjunsani valley, beneath the tutelary Monte Padre (2390 m), a magnificent, luminous granite mountain region whose inhabitants work hard to preserve its natural and human heritage: evocation of legends, vitality of the social fabric and brotherhoods, polyphonic singing
polyphonic singing, historic organs, and the international presence of the Aria theater...
This heritage and musical walk will give you the chance to hear these marvellous little historic organs and climb up to their gallery to better understand how they work.

These tours are recommended by the best guidebooks: Arthaud, Bleu, Geo, Michelin, Petit Futé, Routard...
