Follow in the footsteps of Pascal Paoli on this guided tour of L'Ile-Rousse, on the occasion of its tercentenary. Explore the remains of the Paolina foundation, the ramparts and the old barracks, witnesses to the history of Corsican independence.
In 2025, L'Ile-Rousse will highlight the tercentenary of Pascal Paoli's birth with a guided tour of the town by a guide from the Association des Guides de Balagne, offered free of charge by the Communauté de Communes de Lisula Balagna. The General of the Corsican Homeland founded Paolina in the 18th century, and since then has enabled its development in the heart of Balagne. Thanks to the remains of its ramparts and the former military barracks, the old town still preserves the memory of the island's independence epic. The tour invites visitors to follow in the footsteps of the Babbu di à patria. Meet 10 minutes before the tour in front of the L'Ile Rousse Balagne Tourist Office.
