Artelibri, in partnership with Praticalingua Balagna, presents Sogni di Sonia -- Program 2025 -- - Friday, October 24th At 2:30pm, Workshop / Round table with the author / director and the authors of the Corsican-language adaptation. - Saturday, October 25 - At 4pm, performance for the general public Sogni di Sonia is the Corsican adaptation of Alexandre Oppecini's play Les Inconstances. The Corsican adaptation was produced by Filipu Guerrini and Roselyne de Nobili. The play recounts the daily life of Sonia, a modern woman confronted with life's big and small difficulties: managing her family, her work and her responsibilities. Through her reflections and grumblings, Sonia offers a funny, ironic take on everyday life, a typically Corsican tone found in macagna, the blend of cynicism and humor that characterizes local culture. Alexandre Oppecini explains: "The idea of adapting this text into the Corsican language seemed obvious to me. A woman moaning all alone in her bathroom... that's very Corsican. Beyond the humor, this fiction reflects the lives of many middle-class women, often faced with family and professional responsibilities, with little time for themselves." In this adaptation, the story is set in Corsica: Sonia becomes a villager, Paris becomes Ajaccio, and all the characters are Corsican, with their colorful language and natural irony. The play retains the depth and realism of the original text, while bringing it alive and close to the land. With Sogni di Sonia, audiences discover an endearing, funny and sincere character, who makes us laugh but also reflect on everyday life and the choices we make, through the eyes of a contemporary Corsican woman.
