The present privacy policy describes our practices with regards personal information about individuals (“information”), collected either online or offline, in particular from our website www.balagne-corsica.com, as well as software programs, pages from third party platforms or electronic messages.

Who are we, what do we do and how can you contact us?

We are two tourist offices in the form of a public enterprise. Our respective headquarters are located at the following addresses:

What kind of personal information do we collect and why?

The personal information we are likely to collect about you is generally concerning the following:

Information provided to us by your own free will

Some sections on our websites or when you make a request for information with our advisors at the Tourist Offices or during a trade show could ask you to provide information at your own free will: for example we could ask you to provide your contact details in order to create an account, to finalise a reservation, to subscribe to our marketing communication, to be able to submit your requests to us and/or to send us your comments.  When we ask you to provide your personal data, we will explain which personal information you need to provide and why we need this information.

You can manually modify your personal data in your account in the section My Account. Here, you can also modify your subscription preferences for our marketing campaigns and your profiling for a completely personalised browsing experience. With your account, you can find your favourite tourist information (wishlist) and your reservations from the past 3 years if they have been made directly online. Information that we collect automatically

When you visit our websites, we are likely to directly collect some information from your device. In some countries, particularly within the European Economic Area, this information could be considered personal information according to applicable legislation regarding data protection.

More particularly, the data we collect automatically concerns your IP address, the type of device used, the identification number for the device, the type of browser, the general geographic location (e.g. country or town) and other technical information. We do not share your personal information with third parties other than our two Tourist Offices, unless we have your authorisation to do so; and/or Google Analytics – Analytical platform on the Web; and/or if we are obliged to by law or by governmental authorities, or if we deem it necessary, for legal reasons or for public safety.

The legal grounds for collecting and using the personal data outlined above, depends on the personal data concerned and the specific context in which it is collected.

However, generally, we only collect and process your personal data with your consent, in the event that this personal information is necessary to perform a contract, or if the processing is in our legitimate interest and does not compromise the interest or the fundamental rights and liberties for the protection of your data.

In the event that we ask you to provide personal information so that we respect a legal requirement or for the performance of a contract, we will inform you clearly and in a timely manner, and will tell you if we are obliged to make this information available or not (we will also inform you of the consequences if you choose not to provide us with your personal information).

In the same way, if we collect your personal data for our own legitimate interests (or those of a third party), we will clearly inform you, in a timely manner, of the nature of these legitimate interests.

Updating the present Privacy Policy

If necessary we could update this Privacy Policy, due to legal, technical or commercial evolutions. In the event our Privacy Policy is updated, we will take all appropriate measures to inform you, depending on the importance of the modifications made. We are obliged to obtain your consent for any material modification made to the Privacy Policy, if and each time it is required by the applicable legislation for data protection.
